Harriet Bernstein has served as a New Jersey educator since 1968
including sixteen years as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel in a
large Monmouth Country school district. She has been an active participant
in personnel issues regarding tenure and seniority both in her district
and on statewide committees. She has served as a consultant to Califon
Consultants, Inc. and is now president of its successor company,
Califon Consultants of   NJ,   LLC.
Pat Brown who will be a presenter at this year's seminars, retired
from the East Windsor Regional School District in 2002 after 22 years as
a central office administrator. Her central office positions included 16
years as Director of Personnel and Assistant Superintendent with primary
responsibilities in the area of Human Relations and Policy. Pat contracted
with Califon Associates in 1991 to develop seniority lists for each seniority
eligible position in the district. The lists are currently maintained by the
district on Califon Consultants unique software program. Pat has been a presenter
at numerous district and state workshops on certification and affirmative action
issues. Since her retirement Pat works part-time as a paralegal in the area of
employment law at the firm of Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro and Murphy.
